Heritage, History and Tourism
If you want to learn more about Irish heritage & history, & have an interest in tourism, this course is for you. This course will help you to understand Irish history, culture and heritage, ideal for people who want to work in tourism or go on to further studies in that area.
This non-accredited course is in 3 parts:
- Engaging with our History (Jan 2023 – 10 weeks)
- Dublin: My Place : History & Heritage (Apr 2023 – 10 weeks)
- Presenting History: Heritage, Tourism and Media (Sept 2022 – 10 weeks)
On this course, you will develop your:
- Understanding of Ireland History & the factors that influenced and affected change
- Research and presentation skills
- Knowledge of archaeological sites and artefacts and what they reveal about the past
- Appreciation of how stories are connected to the land
- Ability to investigate resources on Irish Myths and understand folklore
- Understanding of our natural heritage, its social importance the challenges it faces
After this programme, you will be able to progress to further study or seek employment in the tourism and heritage sector.

- There is an informal, 10 minute interview. We will discuss your needs & what you want to get from the course.

- Live in Ireland (Stamp 4, 1G or an EU Passport) & have a PPS number
- Be over 18 years old
- Be able to attend the classes in the Centre
