Warrenmount Centre aim to meet the needs of the local community by:
- Creating Opportunities
- Building Confidence
- Developing Skills
We do this through a learning style that is person-centred, participative and informal. Through this we hope to give people a voice enabling them to create a better society.
Objectives:
- To create a community education and development centre, for local people, which meets the real needs of the area as they emerge. Participation by local people in the management and running of the Centre is a priority.
- To liaise with existing agencies to identify and address needs not being met.
- To promote an atmosphere, as outlined in the Mission Statement, and to offer opportunities and programmes which respond to the needs of the people in the area.
- To influence policies, decision-making structures and systems, so as to bring about systemic change.
Key factors inherent in the approach to the work of the Centre are:
- Collective Advancement
- Participation
- Empowerment
- Active Citizenship
- Innovative
- Creative Methodologies
The Centre is guided by the charism of the Presentation Congregation:
Our apostolate through education involves the total community in a collaborative process through which dependency is gradually replaced by responsibility for self, society and world. (C.13)
