“Volunteers are people from all walks of life, all ages and stages.
What they have in common is the desire to make a difference in their community – and in their own life – by giving of their time.
Volunteers are involved in virtually every aspect of society including health, education, social services, youth, sports and recreation, culture, the arts and the environment”. (Volunteer Ireland)
In Warrenmount Centre we have a great group of volunteers that every year helps learners from our community.
Every Tuesday they are here to help with reading and grammar in our popular Buddy Reading. Many learners receive support to improve their skills. Learners also have fun activities with the volunteers like “Literacy Walking trail”, visiting some historic places in Dublin 8.
Every Thursday, there is another group of volunteer helping learners with their Computer skills in the Online Learning ; they are guided through different programmes according to learners needs, such as NALA Write On, FIT Benefit 5, and language support programmes Rosetta Stone and Safir.
If you are interesting in attending these classes, please contact the Centre 01-4542622.
Every term our volunteers attend an in-service, they work in teams, Warrenmount Centre organises this event and together we decide what is going to be the best way to work with our learners.
