We have a great week with NCAD Student Genevieve Harder.
From Monday 17th February to Friday 21th, we have a group of 12 learners every morning from 9.30 to 2.30 pm.
The group worked to complete a wall hanging that is going to be shown in the Centre. The theme was choose by the group. We started working in ideas, then words and then drawings.
All of them expressed in some way how important is for them to come to the Centre and enjoy the opportunity of learning as an adult.
We also visited the exhibition “1913 Tapestry Project” in the NCAD and Genevieve gave us a tour to the Library. The group had the opportunity of learning how different groups around Ireland have worked together to produce an art piece. This activity was very inspiring and the group came back with lots of ideas.
On Friday we were really thrilled that we have our wall-hanging finished. We have a feedback session Genevieve was very proud of the work group and all learners really appreciated her teaching skills.
Watch this space to know when the piece will be hung in the Centre.
